“A career shaped by public service, operational insight, and data-driven communication.”

🧭 From Global Strategy to Local Insight

My path to social data science began in places far removed from dashboards and datasets — briefing humanitarian crises, facilitating cross-cultural communication, and supporting public decision-making in complex, high-stakes environments.

Throughout a long career in public service and international strategy, I was trusted to explain sensitive, emotional, and often misunderstood information to a wide range of audiences — from foreign diplomats to local leaders, frontline workers, and global media.

That experience taught me this: data is only as useful as the clarity, empathy, and action it enables.

🎓 Academic Foundations

My work today is grounded in both real-world decision-making and rigorous social science. I’m currently pursuing a graduate degree in Social Data Science through Arizona State University, and hold two graduate certificates from the University of Illinois:

  • 📊 Accounting Data Analytics — Integrating financial data into operational insights
  • 💡 Digital Marketing — Using data to reach, understand, and support audiences

My academic work focuses on:

  • Data storytelling and visualization
  • Research design and mixed-methods analysis
  • Public-facing data tools for civic and nonprofit use

💼 Career Highlights

Before founding dbsds, I served as a senior communications and research advisor in complex international settings. My work supported:

  • Strategic communication during civil-military operations
  • Cross-sector humanitarian planning
  • Civic capacity-building through insight and outreach
  • Open-source research for public decision-making

🧠 Why Social Data Science?

Because the most important questions we face — about fairness, opportunity, housing, health, labor, and more — aren’t just technical.

They’re social, human, and urgent.

At dbsds, I use modern data tools to help civic institutions, nonprofits, and researchers answer big questions, uncover new insight, and move toward just outcomes.

➡️ Let’s work together →

Throughout my career, I’ve worked where complexity and communication meet — helping diverse audiences turn difficult questions into clear paths forward.

My professional foundation comes from years in public communication, operational research, and strategic analysis across high-pressure civic environments.
I spent my early career supporting leadership teams, international organizations, and community-facing initiatives where clarity, trust, and ethical action were critical.

Key Experiences That Shape My Work

  • Strategic Communication:
Crafting information for decision-makers, public audiences, and community partners in ways that empowered understanding, not confusion.

  • Operational Research and Analysis:
Supporting real-world decision-making by translating data, patterns, and social dynamics into actionable insights.

  • Civic Engagement and Public Information:
Working with community stakeholders, nonprofits, and civic leaders to address public needs and build trust across diverse populations.

  • Technology and Data Systems:
Building skills in data engineering, content development, visualization, and data ethics to serve public and organizational goals.

Guiding Principles I Bring to Every Project

  • People First:
Data should serve communities, not complicate their lives.

  • Clarity Matters:
Good analysis isn’t just accurate — it’s understandable and actionable.

  • Ethics Always:
Respecting privacy, dignity, and fairness is non-negotiable.

  • Accessible Expertise:
Whether working with researchers, city planners, nonprofits, or small businesses, I believe insight should be empowering — not intimidating.

Today: dbsds and the Future

At dbsds, I combine my background in public service with modern data tools to help researchers, civic organizations, and small businesses move forward with confidence.
